I played alot of intramural football with the Corps at Texas A&M, and I want to play sprint football when I transfer this fall. How hard is it to get into the league or how do you do it? Or is it even a big deal?

The Sprint guys - especially plebes - have it pretty good here. From what I've heard it's not too difficult to make the team. There are several people in my company who walked on during Beast. Plus, they get authos during the academic year, which is a great bonus.

Can you talk more about why authos are such a good deal?

Sure thing. Most Corps Squad cadets have authos, as do many club squad athletes. There are different variations of it, however. Since they all have practice, they can get out of certain details or duties. For example, most of them never drill at all over 4 years, except for graduation.

For a plebe, having authos is an excellent deal. Authos can get you out of duties for practice, which is basically one of the most difficult parts of being a plebe. Of course, there are obvious benefits, but problems exist as well. For example, some people abuse their authos and get out of certain duties that they should not be allowed to.

But at least having the authos option is great. Sprint football does not have particularly long practices, so teams like that often use their authos during duties time to go work out, or something along those lines.

Hope that helps a little bit. :)

Ah, it's times like this I wish I had authos...
