SPS! Exeter!

Does anyone know how many new 10th graders SPS admits each year?

What about Exeter?

from the data of 2004
sps-43
exeter-79

thank you.

From petersons:

In 2006–07, the Third Form (ninth grade) numbered 41 girls and 47 boys; Fourth Form (tenth grade), 79 girls and 69 boys; Fifth Form (eleventh grade), 60 girls and 78 boys; and Sixth Form (twelfth grade), 81 girls and 69 boys. All were boarding students and represented thirty-seven states and eighteen countries.

So they admitted 80 new fourth formers.

Is this about Exeter or Saint Paul's?

St. Paul's.

Okay, Thanks. =]

That's just plain wrong. The school is shrinking the student body which may explain those numbers if they are correct. SPS takes far fewer 4th formers than 3rd.

I just read on the SPS webzsite that they have about 35 new 10th graders. This is more accurate, isn't it?

Oh, and SPSstudent, how do you like your school?!

All trolling aside, I am not bearcats, but I truly believe there is no better. This little school of 500 that keeps a low profile is being uncovered, along with Deerfield, as the choice above Andover and Exeter. The big majority of kids being accepted to both the first 2 choose them above A and E. They are great communities with great academics.

Is it really true that "the big majority of kids being accepted to both the first 2 choose them above A and E". I'm not trying to say you're wrong, but I was just wondering if there is actual data on cross-admits

"All trolling aside, I am not bearcats"

Thank you . :)

Well, maybe SPS or Deerfield offered them more FA or something like that. Maybe the student who got accepted into all four of the above schools thought SPS or Deerfield had a stronger extracurricular activity that appealed to their interests. Perhaps they thought the people were more friendly. I believe that the reasons students may be choosing SPS or Deerfield above A and E are very personal reasons. These two schools may be better matches for the particular student.

EDIT: Well, there's no intention to pick any argument. I'm just trying to inject logic into the discussion. But if someone thinks it's picking an argument, I withdraw what I said. I'm not here to show up anyone.

Dyer, You spend way too much time on this board.

You pick an argument with Dancer for no good reason.
