<p>my computer has the virus spyware 2009 (don't ask me how it got on..it wasn't me..it was my sister who did it..)...
and i was able to get it to go away for a month..but today, i was downloading some music, and it has returned..so i guess it never really left..
any tips on how to get it gone forever???</p>

Can you use Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and Registry Editor (go to Start=>Run=> type regedit => enter to see a new window ) . Please use the folder option , select to view hidden, system files, folders, deselect “Hide Extensions for Known File Types” apply => OK . After that ,you go to folder option again , please tell me if those options you’ve made to folder option have changed (It means if what you did take effect, and you can see the hidden, system files, folders and the extensions of all the files ) .</p>
<p>I’m guessing you have Windows XP. Go to download.com and download malwarebytes. Install, update and quick scan should fix ya.</p>
