How big is a squadron and a flight? I see squadrons lettered, for example F squadron, G squadron. Would a Barbarian squadron be B squadron?

Also, do basic cadets keep the same room, roomate and squadron after BCT?

About 140 basics in a sqadron, divided up into 4 flights (A thru D), with each flight broken into 3 elements each (1 thru 3). Yes, Barbarians are B squadron. Each sqadron has a nickname. After BCT, Basics move to their Academic Year squadron. In most years their entire BCT Flight wil move to an AY squadron (1 thru 36). They probably won't have the same roommate during the AY as during BCT, but it's possible. They won't have the same room. They shift rooms after the Fall semester, but stay within the squadron. After their freshman year they are "shuffled" pseudo-randomly into their "permanent" squadron and stay there for the remaining 3 years. AY squadrons have 3 flights (A,B,C) with 3 elements (1, 2, 3) in each flight. the overall AY Cadet Wing has 4 groups (1 thru 4) of 9 squadrons each.

I concur, except that there are about 150-160 basics/squad and their basic flights are broken down into 4 elements (with an intermediate "section" level which is new this year - 2 elements/section).

Thanks, UN. didn't know about the section thing this year. BTW, AY squadrons are about 110-120 per (4000 cadets over 36 sqdns). Numbers vary somewhat due to attrition and variations in the number that report each year (historically that's been between about 1300 and 1600 over the last 35 years).
