squirrels

I'm from Baltimore where we have normal sized squirrels. I visited UMich over the weekend, and was thoroughly freaked out when two squirrels the size of my dog jumped down from a tree in front of me. I honestly thought that they were going to eat me, and possibly my mom as desert. They were running across a road, and one barely even made it up the curb on the other side b/c of it's excessive fat. Anybody know why these mutant-freak squirrels are so rediculously large?

Squirrels get good-eating on college campuses.

Yeah...basically people feed the squirrels. Because of that, they are HUGE, and what´s worse, they are NOT afraid of people. If you stare at one, it´ll just stare back. Kinda freaky.

KB

haha michigan squirrels are so funny.. its all snowing outside and they dont hibernate in the winter

haha...i know right...they are so fat they don´t need to sleep LOL.

KB

oh man, large rodents always freak me out....i already sent in my deposit but this is kind of disturbing news.

Guess I am not affected by the squirrels since I have lived here my whole life. Lol

My tour guide from a year ago told me that UM squirrels are basically fat, happy, and lazy...too lazy to run away from you.

lol... Don't be scared! They're just fat! (lol... I'm in the Squirrel Club so I can happily say that it's all my fault. Plus, I'm friends with one of the guys that helped co-found the club a few years ago so it's in my nature.)

To add to that the squirrels seem to pose for pictures....I took a bunch my frosh year to send home to my family.. UM wouldnt be UM without the squirrels!

hahah.. squirrel club?

oh yeah they're one of the most famous student groups. They even have shirts.

yeah bro when i visited i was like %#Q%(Q^%$@^%

down here in florida, squirrels are all thin and fast and scared of you.

My mother lives near Brevard North Carolina. And the Brevard College campus is rife with white squirrels - yes, squirrels that are completely white. At a distance, it looks like white teacup poodles are running all over the grounds.

It does show just how idyllic university life can be - in the wild, a white (or for that matter overly fat) squirrel stands little chance of avoiding predators. But on a college campus, all is safe, except if the squirrel ingests a slice of leftover pizza with too many pepper flakes remaining on it. Cheer for the mutant squirrels - fat dumb and happy doesn't occur often in nature - rejoice when it is seen.

half of the people join squirrel club just for the shirts, I'm gonna try and have my friends get me some and Ill sell them to people hah
