Sr. Year Grades?

Hi,

I know there have been countless threads like this, but I'm worried enough to post another one.

I have a 3.55 average in grades 9-11 with a 2250 SAT score. In my 1st semester sr year, I got a job that's very time consuming (a research position at a very prestigious biomedical university), and my grades somewhat dropped. i have never gotten a C in high school, but this was my first one in AP Chem. all the rest are A's and B's, so that my gpa 1st semester is 3.42 (down from 3.67 jr year with 5 weighted classes) I'm taking 3 AP courses, [AP Calc AB, AP Eng Lit, AP Chem], Anatomy/Physiology, American Government (AP is not offered, but I took APUSH last year and did well), Advanced Band 3 and Marching Band. Will this 1 C that I received totally kill my chances for admission at:

USC
Rice
JHU
WUSTL
Emory?

Thanks

Sorry for the double post, but what effect doe +s and -s have on admissions? Thanks!

bump? Please, I could really use the help.

I know kids who got into really good schools with an odd C. Don't worry about it, the rest of your grades are good.

Besides, AP Chem is arguably one of the hardest APs you will ever find. I'm sure your colleges know this.
