We have a few of doubts related to SRAR:
- D did Algebra 1 in 7th grade. and Geometry in 8th Grade.
These are high school subjects taken in middle school.
How to report these two subjects in SRAR? Should these be added to 9th grade section?
We did not find any link to report high school subjects taken in middle school.
as an extension of above doubts: There is a Middle school section, but only allows subjects taken in 8th grade school year.
So not sure if Geometry can be reported here.
Then where will Algebra 1 (taken in 7th grade) be entered?
- In the Exam scores, when reporting scores for SAT, SRAR automatically added 4 sub-sections.
SAT ESSAY WRITING
EVIDENCE-BASED READING AND WRITING (Section Score)
MATH (Section Score)
WRITING & LANGUAGE
The SAT Essay writing section has options from 1 to 8.
Shouldn’t this be 1 to 24? How to report scores here?
-
Is it required to report score in “WRITING & LANGUAGE” or can it be removed? Because anyway the processed score gets reported in “EVIDENCE-BASED READING AND WRITING”.
-
D received an email to login to application portal. After logging in, she bookmarked it.
but when she tries to login later, she is not able to login.
Each time she has to re-use the account activation link to login.
Is this expected?
-
How to find out application status?

Hello!
Let me try to help as best I can:
- When I try to add Middle School courses to the SRAR, I get “Middle School” as an option - no differentiation between 7th and 8th grade. So if you enter both courses there, you should be good to go! We are only looking for courses taken in middle school that are high school level.
2 & 3) To my knowledge, there is nowhere in our SRAR where we ask for specifics on exam scores, we ask students to send their official results directly to our office. Can you clarify a little more about where you are trying to do this and how you navigated to this page? I am wondering if we are looking in totally different places and I am misunderstanding you!
4-5) If you are having technical difficulties with the log in and navigating the portal, I recommend contacting Pitt’s Help Desk. They are available 24/7 to help: https://www.technology.pitt.edu/247-it-help-desk

Hi @hailtopitt1787 ,
Thank you for your reply.
D was able to post her 7th grade high school subject in the middle school section as well.
after login, the grading format (letters or numbers) section and school info section.
Then all courses and grades
Then click next
It takes the user to Exam section.
In that we added AP test scores, subject SAT scores, general SAT (Reading, Math, average of essay scores and raw writing score as the values are till 40 only) .
–We took average of essay score because it has option till only 8 and not 24.
–We provided raw writing score because the range of scores is till 40 only.
Then submitted to Pitt. (In the initial page, the Pitt was already linked to SRAR)
It said SRAR is locked after submitting.
We also sent SAT scores directly from college board to Pitt (around late September or early October)
So, if you would like to make adjustments to your SRAR after submitting it - please just shoot an email to our office: oafa@pitt.edu. Let us know your name/DOB and the adjustment you are requesting and our staff can process it on your file.
If you sent us the scores, we will have that information to look at, too. I think you can just shoot us that email and you’ll be fine!

Hi @hailtopitt1787 , Thank you for your constant guidance.
contacted the Pitt admissions and we found out that application is in complete status and they will not consider the exam scores from SRAR and instead will use the SAT scores sent directly from college board. (which we already sent).
@learning19, Great!
Also - the directions you have been giving about navigating through the SRAR still don’t match what I see when I am in the SRAR.
I just want to check and make sure that you are not referring to the section of the Common App where you can enter grades? Pitt does not accept the Common Application’s self-report section, we send the link for our own SRAR directly to applicants. This may be what you are in and I am just misunderstanding you - but I wanted to check to be safe!
Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
