My DD is working on her PITT application and anxious to complete it so she can be considered for a 5 year guarantee program. She has completed the SRAR portion of the application including all dual enrollment courses as they appear on her HS transcript. Since we do not have college transcripts from the dual enrollment colleges, we do not know how the courses appear on those transcripts. Is it necessary to report them under the college tab when the courses have already been reported as dual enrollment off the High School transcript under the HS tab? Also, the HS is on a 100 pt scale system - we don’t know how the grade appears on the college transcripts - letter or number? Must we wait for the college transcripts?
Does your D have a student account at the DE colleges? Even though we did not order a transcript, she was able to look up her grade in the online student portal.
She was also supposed to print out her grade report from the student account at the end of the course so her high school counselor could add the grade to her high school transcript.
In my D’s case she took the DE class in lieu of a required high school English class.
The way the grading worked in our case, the college reported an A as a 4.0, but highest number grade that translated to at the high school was a 96.
So maybe call the high school and find out how these classes were reported in her hs transcript. They should be able to look that up.
How do you report Dual Enrollment classes taken in grades 9 and 10? The SRAR college coursework section requires a grade level of 11, 12, College Freshman, etc. We do have the college transcript.
Here is the information on entering dual enrollment courses from the FAQ on our application:
"On My Academic Record tab, select Enter Coursework link and (if prompted) select the high school (not college) where you were enrolled while taking the college courses.
Then select Preliminary Coursework Entry. (If you already did preliminary coursework entry then select the academic year (e.g., 2014-15) you took the course(s) under the Enter Coursework section by clicking on the corresponding black/green arrow.
Select Dual Enrollment from the Course Level drop-down list to identify these courses.
Additionally, if you have not done so already, list the college at which you took Dual Enrollment courses by clicking on the Add Another School button under the My Academic Record, Enter High School/College link, and follow the instructions to list your college attendance information."
Additionally, I just tested whether or not you can report Dual Enrollment for courses taken in 9-10th grades, and it worked just fine for me when I entered it in the high school coursework section.
Hope this helps!

I’m sorry to be dense, but the pull down menu under college coursework still shows only 11th grade and up (though teh year 2012-2013 does show). It’s a required pull down menu. No trouble on entering the high school as dual enrollment. Should 11th grade be chosen for 2012-2013, 2013-2014, AND 2014-2015 (the actual Junior year)? At least the years would be correct.
Son and I have been working on this together - perhaps he should take a screenshot and send it to his admissions rep.
Also wondering if he should list the college courses that won’t show up until Spring on his college transcript. For example, Dual Enrolled Government counts as 2 college level classes - one in the Fall and one in the Spring. The fall ones should show up any day now as “enrolled” on his transcript, but spring won’t show up until February.
Thanks for being such a great online resource!
@mamaduck, You don’t have to enter credits for dual enrolled classes in both the high school and college coursework. We are aware that the dual enrollment tab under college coursework does not offer 9-10th grade as an option and our team is working to resolve that. If you would prefer for us to see what college the student is dual enrolled at, it may be best to wait until our team adds 9-10th grade to that section of the application. If you don’t want to wait, feel free to submit the academic record with your dual enrolled classes listed under the high school coursework. We do not need record of those classes in both sections, by any means.
Please enter all current senior-year courses currently in progress. Is the dual enrollment course a year long? Or is it separated by semester?

@hailtopitt1787 Oh, that makes it so much easier! I thought the class had to be listed in both places. So he shouldn’t list the college at all? You’ll just figure it out when he sends in the official college transcript later?
The dual enrollment courses are all a year long on the high school transcript, and most confer 6 hours of college credit, with it listed as two semester classes on the separate college transcript. A few classes are 4 credit hours for a year long class, with the credit conferred by the college only at the end of the spring semester. All told 40 hours of dual enrollment credit. Interestingly, on the high school transcript some are listed as “AP English 12” (for example), but it’s also a dual enrollment option. The class is taught by the same teacher at the same time, but the testing requirements are different. The college classes have a different name than the high school equivalent - the above mentioned AP English 12 is listed as College Composition I (fall) and College Composition II (spring) by the college.
Please just list the courses exactly as they appear on the high school transcript.
You don’t have to list the college coursework if it is also listed on the high school as dual enrollment.
Best,
