So with Pitt joining the common app, does that mean that perspective students applying wont have to use the SRAR since theirs already a spot for academics on the common app?
Doubtful. D18 used the Coalition App last year and it also has a section for academics. She still had to fill out the SRAR.
We will still encourage students applying to Pitt through the Common App to fill out the SRAR. The link to the SRAR will be sent out to applicants after they submit their Pitt application through Common.
As a side note: We will be going live on the Common App in early September.

@hailtopitt1787 I have another SRAR related question:
Re: entering GPA for each year in high school…
DC’s transcript gives a GPA for each year of high school (ex: 2016, GPA 3.78). HOWEVER, DC also took two summer sessions in between school years. Each summer session lists a GPA for that summer session only (ex: Computer Science, GPA 4.5)
**The summer course is not included in the GPA for the corresponding school year.
How should the GPA reported for each year? If DC enters the written GPA exactly on the transcript, it is technically incorrect, as it does not calculate/include the summer courses.
Thank you!
@hailtopitt1787 filled out the coalition app on 8/2. How long will it take to receive an email link to fill out SRAR?
@novamom93, I am actually not entirely sure which way would be best to indicate that. If you go back to the SRAR section and click on “Help” in the right hand corner, you should be able to contact an agent who can walk you through it. Otherwise, feel free to call our office. We are open until 5 p.m. ET!
@SAD1010, It should be coming your way very soon! I would guess early next week.

@hailtopitt1787 I received an email from the help desk prompting me to activate my applicant account password. I followed the instructions and received a username and password. However, I don’t know what these are to be used for. I logged into the student passport with them but it did not reveal anything pertinent. I assume these are not used to access the application decision but I am not sure.
I’d appreciate any information on what this username and password are to be used for.
Thank you!!
@LeMarv, You will use that account to check on the status of your application (if any items are missing, etc.) But we will not post a decision there, that comes via mail/email.

Checking the portal, it mentions that my D’s application is missing transcripts. I thought those were not required until la
Looks like only half my post went up…trying again…When my D checks her application (she applied using Pitt’s application) on the portal it says she is missing her school transcripts. She did the self reporting but has not had official ones sent. She read that she didn’t need to send official ones somewhere until later. Is that correct? Thanks
@WaitingPitt, Yes, if she completed the Self-Reported Academic Record - she does not need to send a transcript. It is likely that the portal has not yet updated to reflect that we have processed the SRAR. Give it a few days, and if it is still up there, feel free to give our office a call to make sure everything is in order: 412-624-7488. But it sounds like you are good to go!
