I know everyone says getting rejected for the summer seminar will not stop someone from getting an appointment, but will getting an acceptance guarantee him or her an appointment. thanks

absolutely not... an appointment is never guaranteed.. even after you get it, it can still be taken away (bad grades, major screw ups...) as for SS, i'm sure there are alot that went to it and didnt get accepted

About 50% of those who go to SS will attend USAFA. I don't know how many are appointed but go elsewhere.

SS is an indicator, but it guarantees nothing. There are those who get into SS but not the academy, and those who don't get into SS but do get into the academy.

SS only looks at a handfull of things, while the application for the academy is much more thorough.

That's what we were told - 50% of those attend summer seminar will attend the Academy and that group (~350) will comprise about a third of the incoming class.
