SS Interview Notification!

Sweet, I can't wait until I get some kind of notification whether good or bad. Hopefully good!!!!

I just received notification of my interview this past weekend after submitting an application in the middle of January. My ALO, who I have never met, has kids that go to my school (I know his daughter), and he wants to meet at my house this Wednesday. He said he would interview me with my parents for a while, and then just he and I would talk. Is this similar to everyone else's experience? Where and how did you all meet, and were your parents present? I don't know if I want them there, but I guess if he does I have no choice. Should I be nervous, or is it more relaxed?

When my ALO came to interview me for the Academy, he introduced himself and spoke a little bit with my parents. He gave them information about the Academy. We then spoke just the two of us and it was pretty relaxed for me.

Don't be nervous, be confident.

You'll do fine.

In my interview for SS, my ALO came to my house and sat with me and my parents for about 30 minutes to show a video about USAFA and to answer any questions that they might have. Then my parents left and my ALO and I talked for almost 2 hours by ourselves. He asked me some of the generic questions that USAFA has all ALOs ask, and then was just available to talk and answer questions. It's really fun, believe it or not. Pretty relaxed, but you still want to make a good impression. Drop a few "sir"s every now and then, make good eye contact, that kind of thing, but for the most part, just be genuine about your desire to attend the Air Force Academy and you should be good. Good luck! :)
