If you submit the SSA late, does it affect the amount of aid that you’ll get? Also, can someone give me an estimate based on my stats?
GPA: 3.46/4.41
ACT: 35
Asian American female
Essays: I think good? I looked over it a lot
For the research paper, I talk about the effect of laptop use in lecture-based classrooms
Do extracurriculars count?
@preethik276 the published deadline is January 15. Do not miss this date! I don’t know IU’s policy on late submissions but you should not risk getting excluded from consideration.
Make sure you read all instructions carefully. Your essay sounds interesting! ?
Do include those EC’s and good luck!
Yeah, I submitted it today with the letters done too. Thanks! Do you have an estimate?
SSA Scholarship funding varies from college to college/ programs. Did you get directly admitted to a program and the honors college?
Your stats are great and should meet automatic entrance into to the honors college. I’m not sure if all SSA applicants are also HHC(Hutton Honors college)? There are honors college scholarships, program/college scholarships, minority scholarships, etc. Decisions start coming out in February and continue through March. My daughter’s awards went something like this (ACT 32 with ACT STEM 34, GPA 4.4, good EC’s and leadership)
In state: Provost scholarship shortly after acceptance letter
SSA: Herbert Presidential scholar (given to top 2% of Indiana applicants, already given a Provost award, unusual hardship)
SSA: Indiana Scholars award (direct admit to college of arts & sciences)
SSA: Honors college scholarship
Able to stack all awards= covered $80% of total published cost of attendance freshman year.
RA this year so compensation package of free housing and meal plan, monthly stipend. Excess scholarship funding refunded to her. Scholarships are renewable as long as she maintains a 3.5 gpa (3.82 now)
There are Several prestigious scholars programs. I believe the Wells scholar is a separate nominated program and already dispersed. There is Kelley scholar, Hudson & Holland, and others.
