I don’t even know how I did so terrible.
I got a 69% in average

Im taking a flex test, but I dont think my scores will soar up.
WHAT should I do?
Do I have even any chances to get in?
Just saying, Im an all A student.
Please reply quickly!!
Thanks
Your SSAT scores might raise a question on your As, since the scores are generally used to see how you score against other students outside of your school. The AOs might think that As are not very meaningful at your school. However, if you do not think you are going to “soar”, I would not waste money. Cross your fingers and hope that they will look over your score. There is no point of taking the flex if your scores aren’t going to change,
Good luck!
If you were my child, I’d advise you to take the flex. While the probability that the scores will change a lot is relatively small, there IS still a chance. It would be nice to get the reading and verbal up a bit.
I completely agree with rebelangel. My child did much better the second time. If you can afford it, you might as well as well take it again and see.
@anonymouspls1130: I would definitely recommend taking the SSAT a second time, provided that you put in the work and practice in between. How long do you have to prepare? If you have less than two weeks, I would recommend buying and reading the official SSAT guide from ssat.org (do those practice tests! They were written by the actual writers of the test and are good to measure your future test performances!), as well as reading The Princeton Review’s SSAT and ISEE book for tricks on tackling the verbal section and for vocabulary words. For reading, I would advise you to work on trying to read faster and also how to gain the main point of the passages easily. I’m a pretty fast reader so I was able to read each passage within 2 minutes at the most, but I am not sure how fast you read so I can only assume. On the reading passages, pay extra attention to the introduction and conclusion paragraphs, as well as the first sentence (topic sentence) of each paragraph.
Even if you can only increase your verbal and reading scores by 5 percentiles, it would still be beneficial. Try your best, and good luck!
