SSAT: Do you send multiple scores to schools?

I was just wondering if anyone has sent multiple SSAT scores to schools they were applying to, and if they have did the schools take the best score?

If you haven't applied yet, do you think it makes sense for someone applying to send multiple scores or take the test multiple times before sending off just your best score?

So I guess I'm asking if it is better to send off your scores for every test and hope the schools take the best one or to wait until all your test scores are in and just send the best one?

Sorry, but how would one take the test multiple times and then send off their best score? (Stupid question, but I want to know, heh) I thought one would select the schools they wanted the score to be sent to while registering for the test…?

You can take the SSAT multiple times. There are tests about every two months and you can tell them to send off the scores or you can wait until after you get your scores.

Right, but how would we tell them to send off our score after we’ve already received it?

<_< Being really stupid right now, I know…

i only sent the one but I intended to retake it if my score didn’t turn out very well. thankfully it did

For 2008-2009, the SSAT was offered monthly in the US between October and April (and again in June). However, most students looking to attend a prep school the following fall would take the test between October and January. You have the option to send or not send the results from each test date to a school. I checked with several schools in January of this year and each told me that if you send in the results from multiple test dates, they will only use the highest score submitted for each section.

With that said, I would take the test one or more times and then decide which test date or test dates you want to submit. It is possible that your best scores in all three areas will occur on the same test date. In this case you would only submit the results for this date. However, if your best scores for each area occurred on multiple dates, then you would want to submit the results for each date that contained a best score. You only have the option to submit all (or none) of the results for a given date. For example you could not have the October Verbal scores sent and not have the October Quantitative and Reading scores sent as well. Just as an FYI, it will cost you more money to submit results for multiple dates.
