Hi, I was just about to apply for the December SSAT and realized that I need a fee waiver to cover the > $100 cost. I have reduced-price lunch, so I know my family qualifies for it.
*Would it be too late now to call up the schools and ask for a fee waiver code, if I plan on registering in the next few days?

I plan on taking the SSAT twice, December and January.
*If the schools cannot give me a fee waiver quick enough for the December test, can I test in December by paying full price but then use a fee waiver for the January testing?

Also, do I need to mail or email proof (income forms, etc) before getting my waiver?

Some schools do indeed require proof of income, although many do not. My recommendation? Start with the most affluent school on your list - in my experience, they’ll be the quickest to grant an immediate waiver.

Okay, I’ve emailed the admission offices of a couple schools. If they don’t respond by tomorrow, I’ll call. Generally, are the fee waiver codes applicable to only one test date? Or can they be used during that testing year for any test month?
So if two schools respond and they both give me two different fee waiver codes, could I use one for December and the other for January?

The code you’re given can be used once - on any test during the school year.

Yes. Just don’t overdo it . . . there are a limited number of waivers available (each school only gets a certain number of them) and a lot of kids who need them.
