SSAT for Jan 6th

Flex test would be the same I think. I don't think they would make a special test for people writing flex tests. Good Luck :)

That would suck to get in the first percentile.

I was honestly close to tears when I found out I was in the 40th percentile.

well test scores are not every thing the schools look at i almost got admitted to exeter last year with a 67 percentile but since i was a year younger they told me wait and year and see what happens. So you never know.

two beads on each side one in the middle.... It looked so easy, maybe it wasnt but i said 5.

For pool question i said 40 hours. and i got d's for 4 of the ending math questions (section 5)

what is the word admonant mean?
I said it meant reply

what was the answer to infuriate to annoy the analogy?

also the collision should have the title of collision, and analyzing cause and affect. What did the paragraph best answer? I said what happened after the collision

Any other answers to the one with the handicaped guy or the mexicans adapted to USA.

the answer to the beads is 3

For pool is 40.

the last four is D E D E

what is the word admonant mean?
thats not a word.... but if it was admonished it means a light warning/scold

what was the answer to infuriate to annoy the analogy?
is was annoy is to infuriate as toss is to hurl

I said the title shouldve been full speed ahead! but i had no idea. collision and full speed head were my last 2 choices
analyzing cause and affect.- yes
What did the paragraph best answer? it answers what happens when they collided. you dont know what happens after

Any other answers to the one with the handicaped guy or the mexicans adapted to USA.
ummm he was respectful to his teacher.. the main idea was about how the kid voted for himself

i cant remember the other questions, but wow i remembered a lot

Yes. Traumatizing events are engraved into the memory. :)

the digit that can be both squared and cubed?
i said 44 but i think that was wrong

also any other opinions on last 4 math questions ( i got all D's but answers have been contradicting to that)

23 is 228

thats what i remember for the last 4 math questions
if you remind me, i'll tell you
and 44 is correct

wait i think 44 is correct.
what was the exact question?

D felt that she did much better on this test and that it was a lot easier than the December version (she scored a 65 .. with many of her friends scoring in the 40's and 50's). She is hoping to raise her score into the 80's or at least high 70's. We will see when she gets her results .. but it seems strange that the test would vary in difficulty from one date to another.

Will a 65 get you into or keep you out of an ISL school?

Given her dedication and effort on this SSAT (2 months of study with a tutor), I am truely impressed with the results of others expressed here on this board. Good luck to all with your first choice schools!

the number that can be squared and cubed is 64.. right? yes..?

didn't the bead questino say... one bead has 2 on either side...? so isn't that 5?

the bead problem said there is 1 bead to the right of 2 beads, 1 bead to the left of 2 beads and there is 1 bead inbetween the beads, so its 3 beads. O O O

i know, it was tricky. i got 7 at first. but then I thought it over and i thought it was too easy because its the last question (harder towards the end) so i redid it.
yes i did get 64, but was that the actual number?
it said the 2 digits squared and cubed.. but yeah when it is cubed, its 64.

the actual question was like, "which number can be both squared and cubed"..which is 64 (8 squared and 4 cubed).

"the bead problem said there is 1 bead to the right of 2 beads, 1 bead to the left of 2 beads and there is 1 bead inbetween the beads, so its 3"......read that again. did you type that wrong or something?

capital B's are the orginal 2.. so we have:
BB

okay, now 1 bead to the right of the 2 and one to the left of the 2
bBBb

now one in between the original 2:
bBbBb...

what's wrong again? i can see how it can be misconstrued either way but they never explicitly say dont count the original 2 or whatever..

ohhh okay, then it is 64 :)

it didnt say there was an original 2.
it just says there are 2 to the left and 2 to the right of one bead and one inbetween.

bBB
BBb
BbB

It don't think a 65 will lock you out of a school, but you should have strong application otherwise to get into an ISL school. A few of them (St. Mark's is one, I know) have SSATs in the mid to high seventies, so a high sixty is within their range. However, if your daughter could move it up to the seventies or eighties, that would probably help quite a bit.
I'm so glad I took the test in November; I'm getting nervous just listening to all of you. Good luck with your results. :D

ohhhh now i remember reading the problem more so... i think i might have put 3..

but anyway, msu.. we can't get 99% even if we do get a perfect score..

really? i thought if you got everything right on each section, its a perfect score.

no if you get a perfect score you can't get 99% because we're in 10th.. for verbal, if you get all right you get 94%, if you get all right in reading you get 91% or something and if you get all right in math you get 98..
but overall it would be 99????? i dont know.. this is what my 10th grade girls chart says. for overall, it says if you get 3 wrong on the WHOLE test, you get in the 97th, if you get 6 wrong, you get in the 95th.. if you get9 wrong, you get in the 90th..if you get 12 wrong you get in the 84th. remember, this is out of 150 questions overall.. that's pretty intense.. so that means getting 92% correct gets you in the 84th perfecntile..

Wow.. blairt, is that true? I'm grade 10 guy applying for grade 10 again, and does that mean my percentile will be compared against other grade 9 guys who probably would have a better chance of getting higher percentile than I am? I skiped like 8 questions overall, and I am pretty sure I got at least 8 wrong overall too. And what is that "chart" based on? Do you know?

if you're in 10th, it will count as 10th, but the schools might not regard it in such high esteems if you're appling for a lower grade level.
