So, I was supposed to take the SSATs January 8th but there was mix-up and apparently, I wasn't registered for that test date even though I thought I printed what I thought was an admission ticket. I was prepared to take the test and I had studied all winter break. I have all my other admission materials ready and I hope to turn them in on time, but my SSATs might be late. I am working on trying to find someone who can give me a private test before January 15th, but if I don't, how will the late SSAT affect my application. Someone told me I maybe able to sneak into regular rolling but they can't guarantee anything. I'm applying to Deerfield and Andover. Also, does a late application really significantly hurt your chances?

Some schools will defer until they see your scores from the February test. But the question will come up on why you didn’t register for earlier tests and what that says about proactivity. They’re screening for students who are self-starters and can get their work done on time.

You’re behind the eight ball because the thousands of other students took the test on time.

Still - stuff happens and many schools are understanding. Some schools will accept the February test if all other materials are in by the deadline. Can’t hurt to ask and explain the situation so they can anticipate your intentions and know to hold on to your application if it’s incomplete.

Focus on getting a quick Flex-test and use the February test as your backup. This will be easier if you’re in a major city.

You are ****ed

Call the schools and tell them about the mix up, they might let you take it february.
