I recently got my scores back and I was wondering if private boarding schools focus more on the overall score, or the individual scores for each section. I got a 93% overall but the individual scores were sort of spread out.
Thanks.

@yongatilla,
From what I’ve heard, schools care about the individual sections. I’ve heard that your composite score doesn’t really matter.

First off congrats on your score. Also, to get a 93 overall i think that your scores wouldn’t be spaced out that much.

Well my math was 99%, but my reading and vocab were 85% and 83%. And the score was almost a hundred points different (I mean the raw score, I got 800 and then like 704 and 722).

They look at the individual sections.

What I was told by a 8th grade prep agency was…the math score is the most important. Its easy to improve on your vocab score, so they know that some kids really do well in that area. Also some school will look at all your SSAT scores and take the best scores from each area. It also depends what school you are applying to.
