Quick question:

I took the SSATs in November, and retook them in January. My score is as follows:

Verbal: 749-- 93%
Math: 689--62%
Reading: 731-- 96%
Total: 2166-- 89%

I realize my Math score is VERY low. If my overall score is acceptable/relatively high, will they overlook the low score? Or will my Math score majorly decrease my chances?

By the way, I'm applying to Choate, Loomis, and Taft as a ninth grader for full FA. Thanks in advance!

An 89 is more than fine. Your math score is above average anyway

I woud say not to worry about it.If your grades in math are generally good, its not really that much of a problem. your verbal seem pretty good. And the math is only a little below average for Taft and Loomis. Remember the ssat, is a factor but not the determining factor.

The SSAT doesn’t always hold a lot of weight. They look at everything, grades, recomendations, essays and interview notes. Even if you SSAT scores are a little low some schools have a learning center or other types of academic help. And some people aren’t great test takers and admin officers take that into mind.
