Hello, and I hope you’re having a great day! I got my SSAT results back today, and I wasn’t sure if I should submit them or not. I’m applying to several “top” boarding schools (i.e., L’ville, Hotchkiss, and Middlesex) as an international student from South Korea.
The breakdown of my score is:
93% overall
89% reading
92% quantitative
89% verbal
I’ve seen that most of my friends applying to boarding schools as international students typically have scored in the 97+ percentile range, which made me a little apprehensive about my score. I know that I could do better if I were to take another test (everything was so last-minute for this one, so I only had a week to prepare)…
Would it be a better decision for me to submit these scores or to try again? Would these scores make me, somehow, “less competitive” of an applicant?
Agreed. These are fabulous scores. AFAIK, the scores just keep you in the ballgame. A 93% is a fantastic score! You are definitely in the ballgame.
But remember all the other things: your grades, your LoRs, your essays, and your ECs, as well as your enthusiasm for a school. The AO is always looking at the total package.
Yes! Those are great scores, you should feel proud of yourself for achieving those! Especially at the last second. I wish you the best with your applications.
