could you please note "safety", "match", "match/reach", "almost match", "high reach", "unrealistic"

thanks so much! i would like to know tonight because i need to send apps tomarrow.

Keeping in mind of course how hard it is for eleventh graders (though I'm sure you're quite well-versed on that by now :D), I'll do that system you asked, from what I know (and only what I know--just an opinion :)).
Andover--reach/high reach
Exeter--reach/high reach
St. Paul's--reach/high reach
St. George's--match, I think
Chaote--reach
Hotchkiss--reach
Taft--match
Tabor--safety/match
Blair--safety/match
I don't think any are really unrealistic, provding everything is in on time, you don't have any last-minute disasters, etc.

mnmk i'm not applying to hotchkiss or blair anymore

many times "chances" should be translated to "will you fit".Unknown to all but the adcom.futile to ask the unanswerable.maturity to control what you can. Quiet patience.Ask yourself ,do I raise my hand every time I know the the correct answer?Do I make class fun for my peers?Am engaging yet easy to be with.Am I high maintainance? All quite interesting.

Agree with Kitty regarding your chances except A, E, and S are very high reach. If you are able to graduate in June but the highest math class you will have taken is pre-calc, that is surprising. I also think they will question the education that you are receiving given that you are taking 11th and 12 grade English simultaneously and are only now taking geomety. Do you have a foreign language on your transcript? If not, that could be problematic. A,E, and S have rigorous foreign language requirements. Also, forget the importance of Mensa. The intelligence required for Mensa is not all that impressive given the applicants that you are competing against.

i wish i could tell you, but most its completely unpredictable.

i'm not taking 10th, 11th, and 12th, simultaneously. i'm finished w/ geometry but i need to test. i study spanish and french. most private schools do not require calculus. most say that they would like students to complete calc by 12th grade, som require it. i'm in 10th now. next year at BS i will take calc, along with my peers. i will not be behind. "mensa-smart" and book smart are completely different and one can be completely devoid of the other.. i noted it because i attend the meetings like a club, and enjoy the psychological and philosophical discussions.. thats all. this is all while in a public school system (the one i go to is a magnet w/ admissions requirements). upon completing the current school year, i will be ahead of most of my BS peers (humanities, really), but will continue to take classes at whatever level is allowed of me.

whole story very confusing, but interesting.like watching a car wreck. Was it a real ferrari or a kit car. Some poor BS has to figure it out. This is cool.

Good analogy, Francis.

It seems like blairt is trying to pack 10 pounds of whatever into a 5 pound bag and then claim credit for it. Not sure if she is getting anything out of it but it's out of the way!!

you seem very spiteful. what was it that i did to you again?

Thanks, I also thought your post regarding High school languages and continuity were dead on(another thread, same topic). This will be a story worth following.College implications way more disasterous than BS.

Blair -

Some of your college courses can be viewed as "fluff" - tennis, pilates, jujitsu...

right. i was only allowed to take one acadmiccourse.

What are your projected SAT scores? Maybe you should try to see which schools you match with.

andover - reach
exeter - reach
sps - reach
st georges - match/low reach
choate - reach
hotchkiss - reach
taft - reach/low match
tabor - safety/match
blair - safety/match

SAT - Verbal Predicted Range 670 - 800
SAT - Math Predicted Range 630 - 760

= 1300 - 1560

(in order of level)
exeter - 1390
andover - 1388
st pauls - 1266 - 1480, average 1360
choate - 1230 - 1430
deerfield - 1260 - 1466, avg 1340
taft - 1306
st georges - average 1302
tabor - 1100 - 1300

AED = reaches
St. Paul's - high match
Choate - high match
Taft - low match
St. George's - high safety
Tabor - low safety

I'm going to rate them by 1-10 too because Match/Reach is hard.

Andover - 8
Exeter - 8
St. Paul's - 7
Choate - 6
Deerfield - 6
St. George's - 4
Taft - 5
Tabor - 2

St. Paul's has a 19% acceptance rate versus like 23% for A/E. Deerfield also has a lower acceptance rate of 16%, so they should be the reaches. Not just Andover, Exeter, and Deerfield.

I just said that because of the schools' projected SAT scores, not their acceptance rate.

I said I was basing it off the SAT SCORES. NOT acceptance rates.
Sorry.

Oh, sorry.
