SSAT scores today?

@confidential24 Our DS saw a drastic improvement between his 1st and 2nd try.

Ok, I got ours. One is in the 98% (boy) and one is in the 89% (girl). They both scored in the 90s on the verbal and reading, but my daughter had a bad day on the math and got 72% on math, hence her lower overall percentage. Should I have her retake it? We wouldn’t be able to do it until February and the schools may think that’s too late?

The schools we are looking at also didn’t seem to place too much emphasis on the SSAT and I think both are above average for all schools we are considering.

Congrats to everyone on a job well done!

Congratulations to all the kids who took the SSAT and received their scores. Everyone did wonderfully!

@dogsmama1997 I would say just send both; it’s free to send scores, so why not? Congratulations to your kid, though!

@confidential24 Good luck on their retake! A 73 is still a really good job; but yeah, studying and doing the retake could raise their score to where you want it to be.

@busymommyof4 Congrats to your kids! Both are fantastic scores. Since it’ll be a little too late, I’d say don’t retake it. An 89% overall is still an objectively fantastic score and is above average at basically all boarding schools.

I’m still sort of in shock, not going to lie. I had a dream I scored in the 10th percentile, which just shot me with anxiety. I’m relieved. I checked while I was in World History and realized I got the score. I called my dad while sitting there on a laptop (32 kids means I blend in a lot, and it was an individual day anyway) and got him so excited. I feel much more confident about my application…too bad the test doesn’t erase my crappy grades… lol.

I am going to hope that a balanced application is what is most important. My daughter interviews really well and my son does not, so I think the higher test percentile was more important for him. They both have great essays, grades, etc.

I’m pretty sure Feb results are too late to be considered for schools with Jan 10 or 15 application deadlines. Jan is generally the last date you can take and get the scores in time (even if the results arrive a few days after the application deadline). Schools that have a Feb application deadline may be different. For instance, PA has a Feb 1 application deadline and will accept Feb SSAT results. You’d have to look into each school’s policy.

I recently received my scores. I scored in the 87th percentile for 9th grade girls! I’m honestly proud, considering the fact that I literally studied for the exam the day before. I’m taking the exam in January again. My goal is to score in the 95th percentile or above. Congrats to all who received their test scores back.

My test score gave me the motivation I needed to study for the test. I know that not all tests are created equal and I’m assuming that the January test will be 2x as hard so I plan on studying with that assumption.

My reading scores were absolutely horrible. 51st percentile :-??
