Will my application be considered late if the required supplement essay is recorded as Jan 19th? I sent the essay to the ssat center on the 13th for a Jan 15th deadline. Now my ssat general app status shows received Jan 19th. I thought ssat would record the postmark. Is this cause for concern?

I don’t think so. The same thing has happened to my daughter. All of her recs, etc were mailed on the 12th, but they recorded the date as the 20th. I guess they record the date that they post it to the checklist rather than when they received it. I don’t think it is cause for concern. The supplements were posted a little earlier, but not when they arrived (I’m sure) and certainly not as the 12th.

There are some school that have sent “application complete” emails and others that don’t even show all the SSAT materials as even being there. Who knows? Then, one non-common app school had everything posted by the 17th and others still don’t have anything but the candidate profiles.

Some schools don’t even have test scores as being received and those were sent in Dec. It’s hard to tell whether it matters or not because I strongly suspect that those checklists are only for our benefit and my not actually reflect was has been recorded by the school.

Last year, there was something missing from one school that all the others had received. Finally, on Feb 5th or so, I called and the lady pulled son’s file and said, “Oh, it’s right here!”

It is nerve wracking, but they generally sort everything out. It must be a logistical nightmare for those people who work in the admissions offices. I wonder if they enlist students to help with all the recording and filing?

Thanks neato, you`re the man ;)
