For all you guys out there that got a great score on the SSAT, how did you memorize all your vocab? Do you guys do it like me and highlight all the vocab that I don't know and memorize those, or do you just memorize vocab from a book? thanks.

out of all the words i studied from the practice tests and what not, there was maybe 1 actually on the test. studying the roots, or just understanding how they work can be incredibly helpful. being able to manipulate a word, pull out its root, and think about what other words it is in can be helpful. look at the answers on words you really don't know. also take advantage of not answering all of the questions. you can leave a few blank and still get a top score.

i think the problem with vocab is how it is taught in schools. teachers always teach us to use "context clues" to figure out the meaning of the word. this can be useless, and context clues only give a very generalized meaning. in my opinion teachers should force students to look up words... (that way i won;t look like a complete nerd)

latin roots my friend, they're very helpful

I made flashcards out of the dictionary.
