Does anyone know if one is rated higher than the other ? Cuz it seems to me that the ssat is the harder test of the two ... Is the ssat preffered ? Im just wondering

Misconception: The ISEE is now A LOT harder as they revised the test last year to make it so. If you take it, expect your percentiles to be lower because they are based off a 3 year average. Since it is harder, your percentiles would be lower.

Schools prefer the SSAT, in my experience.

My son took both tests. He scored well on the ISEE and not so well on SSAT. I think you are penalized for guessing on the SSAT. Correct me if I’m wrong.
We confirmed during school interviews that both tests would be accepted.
I’d also like to add that we regretted not allowing enough time to reschedule another SSAT. I suggest testing early in the game in order to have the option to retest if you’re not happy with your first set of scores.
Good luck everyone. I remember the stress started building around this time last year and stayed constant until March. The key is to stay organized.

I’ve heard the ISEE is a lot harder but I’m applying to 2 boarding schools and 2 day schools and the day schools only accept ISEE so I kinda have to take the ISEE because I don’t want my parents to have to pay for 2 tests!
