Hey, has anyone applied to the International Excellence Scholarship? If so, do you know when decisions come out. Thanks!

DD applied to biology without test scores in December, received unconditional offer today!

Congrats to your daughter, @Kocsis! Is she accepting her place or holding out for US results?

She still has a bunch she’s waiting on. Guessing she’ll want to see what happens with those before committing, but her dad and I are hoping (and pushing) for this. It’s so tough when they haven’t been able to visit anywhere.

Can you share with us if you needed to submit AP scores? Do you know what they will be doing next year for AP scores?

Can you apply to St Andrews via the Common App? Is there an advantage to doing it one way or another?

i cant delete my post so ignore this

@usma90 My daughter received an acceptance today for Bio  She applied in mid-November and submitted via the Common App. Best of luck to your son!

Yes you can apply via the common app. If you’re interested in more than one UK school you might choose to apply through UCAS because you can apply to up to 5 schools for one application fee. If you’re only interested in St. Andrews you can use the common app but be advised that the common app essay for St. Andrews is more about why you want to study what you’re applying to read and how you’ve prepared for that instead of something about yourself.

Congrats! I applied for bio in November as well and am anxious to hear back! Would you mind sharing your stats if your comfortable?

@FinCoach sure thing. GPA 3.9 unweighted. ACT 34. APs: 5 English, 5 APUSH, 4 Spanish Language

I have a son in his second year at St A’s. He absolutely LOVES it! He is a product of public school and not a sporty kid at all. Your son will be absolutely fine going there. My 2nd son received an unconditional offer and will be attending in the fall. He attended a private school.

My daughter has accepted offer to same course. Will your accept ? My daughter is in Ohio…love to connect them before move.

Hey all! How long after submission are people typically hearing results? I applied without test scores right before Christmas and am anxiously waiting to hear back!

They say typically 6-8 weeks after applying, but admissions seems to be taking longer this year. They say they have a higher amount of American applications than ever before and may take longer to respond. From what I see, it seems like they’re taking about 3 months to respond. My son applied around when you did and hasn’t heard back as of yet. He applied to Trinity Dublin at the same time and got an unconditional acceptance a week later…

My Daughter applied to Neuroscience way back in October. Has anyone else heard from that particular program. She applied through common application.

My son applies jan 1 and was accepted today into the Faculty of Arts School/Financial Economics and management. He’s happy as St. Andrews is at the top of the list. He has 6 US schools coming out with decisions at the end of the month, but, 99% chance he goes to St. Andrews.
