***St Andrews in Scotland Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion***

Applied during the Oxbridge deadline for International Relations and Economics. I haven’t heard anything beyond acknowledgement and an applicant portal login.

I applied in early October and received an unconditional offer to study philosophy today!!!

Congrats @nyuabroad

@nyuabroad omg congrats! what are your stats?

DD applied by Common App on 16 Oct and received unconditional offer today in Master of Arts (Honours) Comparative Literature and English.

@VickiSoCal Thank you so much!

@bessieh Sure thing.

ACT: 30 (I only took it once)
GPA: 3.8

I also applied through Common App.

I am currently taking AP literature, AP psychology, AP Spanish, and AP macroeconomics. I did not send any of my AP scores from previous years and I never took any subject tests.

My essay and personal statement were both really well-written and conveyed my personality well.
I did not read my recommendations but I have a close relationship with both of my recommenders and I assume they were both pretty good.

I have plenty of extracurriculars and a ton of community service, but I’m not sure how much that matters in admissions at St. Andrews (if it does at all).

I applied to a different school early decision and I am now waiting on their response. If I am not accepted, I will most likely be attending St. Andrews next year. Either way, I am super excited.

Good luck to you! Maybe I will see you at St. Andrews in the future.

Has anyone heard back from Economics and/or International Relations?

Assume that IR from StAs will be a late response- it is one of the most popular courses and in the past they have released comparatively slowly.

Act: 31
GPA: 3.96
Speak 4 languages
Many extracurriculars
Very good Common App Essay
Close with recommenders
Applied in September
Received unconditional offer yesterday for an Honours Degree in French with an integrated year abroad.

Nice! I have an unconditional for the biology bachelors/masters combined as an international applicant!

@collegemom3717 Do you know when they released results for IR last year?

@HRS1861, iirc February. Deadline for UK/EU applicants is 15 Jan, and b/c IR is one of the most over-subscribed courses (for both international & domestic students) they like to get a full look at the domestic application pool before making the cuts.

Has anyone heard from the Biology and economics major?

what were your stats @katiekat1984

Had a friend get an offer for IR yesterday. He applied basically as soon as the UCAS opened in September.

That’s impressive, @whoharry! that’s the earliest I’ve heard for IR in the last few years. Was it unconditional? can only imagine they are super qualified.

It was unconditional, he had a bunch of AP scores already which is why I imagine he heard so early.

Honestly suspect it was more than just AP scores- they get a fair few who have that. Main thing- congrats to your pal!

why have I still not heard back… :frowning:
