Hello everyone,
I am new to this site, so I don’t know how prompt responses are, but I have a question I need urgently answered.
So, I am a senior at a US high school and I am applying to UK universities for medicine. I had St. Andrews on my UCAS application, but my dad told me that St. Andrews is on the Common App (America’s common app, just to clarify), so I added another UK school on my UCAS app and St. Andrews is on my common app now.
I am trying to submit everything now because the UCAS application is due on the 15th of October (in 4 days), so I need to submit my UKCAT scores to the schools they go to (in my case, King’s College, Edinburgh, and St. Andrews) by October 16th. However, the UKCAT asks for your Personal Identification Number, which you get when you submit your UCAS application, so I tried to check how to submit it for St. Andrews/if I can because I’m applying over the Common App.
Now, here’s where I came across the problem. Some British schools on the common app tell you to note that if you are applying over the UCAS, they would like to be included on your choices there, but St. Andrews does not (which is why I put it on that application). But on it’s website, I found that they accept the common app provided that you do not apply through the UCAS, which I am doing (source: https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/study/ug/apply/common-application/ ).
As you can see, I need to know whether I can apply to St. Andrews through the Common App and to other schools through the UCAS. Also, if anyone knows how to send UKCAT scores for Common App schools (which may not be possible because St. Andrews is one of the few you can apply to medicine for on there), information would be greatly appreciated.
