St. Andrews (Scotland)

Im applying to study history at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, I'm an American student.
SAT: 2010
Subject tests: World History 670, Literature: 700
AP: European History: 4, English language: 5, U.S. Gov: 4
GPA weighted 4.22, unweighed about 3.9
Lots of extra curriculars and a great teacher recommendation!
Also, does anyone know how long it takes to hear an admission decision from them?
Thanks!

anybody? :)

Hi, I’m positive that I’ll be able to help you  I’m from Massachusetts and officially am going to attend St. Andrews in Fall 2014 (so I’m assuming we’re both seniors). I actually found out while filming a project the day before Thanksgiving! In terms of your grades, we have roughly the same SAT score, my GPA is slightly lower, and my AP scores are again roughly the same (AP Gov: 4; AP Euro:5) So based on the fact that I got in, I’d be shocked if you did not.

What application are you doing it through? CommonApp? UCAS? or their personal one?

For me, I found out in less than three weeks back after sending in my application. From what I’ve gathered this is because they always let international students find out first because they are the ones bringing in the real source of income.

Hopefully I was able to help, and if you have any other questions feel free to private message me!!

Thank you so much! I used the commonapp and I got an email saying my application was complete this morning! I really hope I can find out soon! What are you planning on studying there?

I got accepted for International Relations, but I’m planning on adding Russian once I get there. Congrats on sending in your application, that’s a major relief!!!

Schweiz12,

My daughter is also going to St. Andrews next fall. Your test scores and GPA are strong. In my opinion you shouldn’t have any problem getting an offer.
Waiting for a response was stressful for her but actually in scheme of how long it takes to hear by from U.S. schools the response didn’t take long at all. It took exactly three weeks for her to get her unconditional offer. She applied with the UCAS.
What will you be studying?

I’m considering St Andrews as well (for 2015). Imho, your stats look good. Could someone give mine a look? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1616335-chance-me-and-i-ll-chance-back.html

I’m planning on studying Scottish History and Russian! Thanks everyone!

I just got accepted this morning! So excited.

Congrats! I was just looking at your stats and wanted to let you know you’re a perfect match.
