Is anyone currently attending the sbu/gwu program? I just received the first interview at SBU, what are the chances of getting the second one at gwu? I live in CA, so NY is a little far. How many make it to the SBU interview and how many for GWU?

Also, is the SBU interview evaluative or informational? If anyone who did the interview remembers any aspects of it and can give me some tips, I would really appreciate it!

fyi, you might want to check out the campus before applying…it was very uninspiring and underwhelming in my opinion. From talking to the admissions counselor when I was there, I believe the interview is evaluative.

Yeah, no offense to anyone, but even if I applied to this program and got in, I would never attend just because of its location/campus. I don’t think I would survive four years there…

although I’ve never been to the campus, I think i’ll live even if the campus is something less than desirable, because I’m seeing this as a means to an end.

With med school admissions as competitive as they are now, I think spending 4 years at an aesthetically unappealing school to transition into med school at the end without the stress of applying, is worth it.

And besides St.Bona is a great school. Yes, it may not be Brown PLME or Drexel but the school is what you make of it, and like any other school, you’ll grow to love it if you attend.

hello,
last year at this time i felt the same reluctance to go to st. bonaventure for the interview, but i went (and skipped a major high school event). it was extremely worth it. the environment at st. bonaventure was extremely comforting and one of my best interview experiences throughout the BA/MD application process. It is a chance to prove to them that you can handle the challenge they are giving you and also prepared for the stress coming along with it. it is only an interview, and does a great job at showcasing the school’s strengths and weaknesses, so i would highly recommend you attend to make sure you do or do not like it. if you advance to the GW interview, you are pretty much guaranteed a spot (don’t quote me on that). i turned down my acceptance to the program with great reluctance because the admissions staff literally knows your name and face, but i went to a program i was better suited for. with a med school acceptance rate lingering at about 50%, i would not turn down any interviews for combined programs! (especially ones that don’t require the MCAT)
