St. Francis Xavier Scholarship

Is anyone attending the St. Francis Xavier Scholarship competition in February? Looking for information on what this competition entails? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

DD is attending. Not sure about the process.

For those that interviewed, what are your thoughts?

My daughter just found out she received one of the Francis Xavier Scholarships!! Good Luck to everyone else

Mom - Were you notified by mail?

Yes- she received a letter in the mail. She was quite surprised- It was a small business envelope.

Congrats to all that were selected. Would you mind sharing your son’s or daughter’s statistics (GPA, Test Scores, etc.) ? I am sure that there are many more attributes that are considered, however, it would be nice to see if my daughter might be competitive for such a prestigious, and significant scholarship.

Congrats again!!

I competed, but I wasn’t selected. Instead, I received the Chancellor Scholarship. My stats are 32 ACT, 3.97 top 8% of my class (probably my weak point, but I do go to one of the Ohio’s most competitive public high schools), 100+ hours of community service through a local hospital, tutoring a 4th grader, and a community foundation’s youth branch. I also have two significant leadership positions. Hope that helps.

beardch- Congrats on the scholarship.

For those who asked- She has a GPA of 3.8 – weighted 4.7 ACT score of 35; SAT of 2290 top 5 of her class, lots and lots of service hours - in the 1000’s. leadership positions, all 5 on AP tests–attends a private academy has a very rigorous honor track and AP program. She has taken 4 years of latin and 4 years of Spanish. Sure sounds like I am bragging - but just wanted to sharwe with those who will compete next year.

She has received a full tution to another school also.

My son also won this scholarship! He has a 3.85 GPA at a prestigious Jesuit HS, a 34 on the ACT, 4 years of Russian, NHS, service hours at a camp for autistic children, several AP courses, and holds a part-time job. Xavier was his top choice…applied and accepted to Marquette, Creighton, St. Louis University and Butler. He went all-out for the scholarship and was thrilled to win!
