St. George's Info

Hi! I am going to be optimistic and believe I will get a choice after March 10th. I can't stop thinking about what school I really want to attend. I am torn between two. I would love to get some insight on St. George's. Any students, alumni, parents, faculty, etc. out there who would like to share?

What's the other school that you want to go to?

I really like Blair too. I have also applied to Lawrenceville and Taft. I was just accepted at Delbarton. But, I really would prefer to board. I know that Lawrenceville is "higher ranked", but I just loved both Blair and St. George's. They are different but I could see myself at either school. Blair is closer to home and everyone there was just great. The school has constantly kept in touch with me throughout the entire process. I feel so wanted. The students at St. George's blew me away. The campus is amazing. The admissions group at St. George's is also kept in touch with me throughout the process. It has more of a "prestige factor". But, it is further from home.

Hmmm.
As for me, I like St. George's more than Blair...
but that's just me. :D
I thinkkk you should bump this thread around March 10th!
Good luck with your decision!

Ok, thanks for the response. Why do you like St. George's better? Have you visited both schools? Or is it just because of ranking?

I've visited both schools...
I lived in New Jersey, so I visited Blair without even calling the school, a few years back.
I remember I loved the campus, but I didn't think that I would be comfortable there, because the lady at the desk told me over the phone that the Asian population at Blair is very small, and admission is extremely competitive. I thought it strange that she spoke to me about how "good my english is" when I had just told her that I lived in New Jersey my whole life...
On the other hand, I have a friend currently attending Blair- he really likes it there, he says the academics are great, people are great, etc.

St. George's I visited a couple of weeks ago. The school campus was beautiful, everyone seemed really goal oriented, people said hi, etc. I just really liked the feeling of the school. It's definitely not because of ranking; I am aware that both schools have great college matriculations, and I don't believe in the ranking system- I just have my opinions.

But Blair seems like a great school- I didn't really give it a chance, I was only driving through the campus :)

Thanks for the really thoughtful, helpful response. I visited and interviewed at both schools. I also live in NJ. Both schools gave me that great "this could be my home" feeling. I guess I always thought I would get that feeling at only one school. The one real negative with St. George's is how much further it is away from home than Blair.
