hey, emmmm........I am an international student and I have questions about those two schools..... I always think that personality is a very important factor while choosing a school, since I am choosing between those two at the moment and that I cannot do campus visits. So would you plz give me some hint on this? Like what type of people usually attend St.John's or Marlboro. Surely I understand that each student is unique in any school, I am only looking for the common characters.
As for me, I am someone very outgoing, extremely talktive and always optimistic. But..academically,emmm...I hate science and I am a science idiot...And by the way, I don't really like being around arrogant people or bookworms(here I don't mean those who love reading, but those who only cares and knows about studies, and they are usually not interested in anything else like music or art..and they seldom have fun with friends) Generally speaking, I am a very happy and laid-back person who perfers the cooperative campus atmosphere to the competitive one.
As far as I know, both of them have amazing education for students, I am just looking for a match. People who know about them, plz comment on this, thanx very much, a big hug, haha^_^

hey esti

marlboro college is not in virginia, but in vermont. i think marlboro fits you more than st. john's - where i think the student body is much more "bookworms" ... you probably know their whole "great books" program. marlboro, to me, is like a community of intellectuals who are trying to pursue what they love. i think they are supportive... considering that marlboro is so small, it really fosters that type of spirit. both are some of the most competitive schools in the nation and progressive in thought. good luck with your choice. hoped this helped some.

St. John's is a great books program (very reading focused) and a substantial amount of math and science are required for all students.

lasercat, I have noticed the mistake about VT and VA,haha...sorry for that...emmm, actually, your ideas are just very similar to what I am thinking at the moment, I found St.John's a great school but which is possibly not my type...anyway, thanx for the comments and it did help a lot...a big big smile^_^

dntw8up...emmm, I was already admitted by St.John's before I found out there is a school named Marlboro...St.John's' all required curriculum worries me a lot...thanx for the kind remind anyway^_^
