My daughter thinks the "Great Books" curriculum at St. John's College was made for her. I would love to find some similar schools to give her some serious choices but haven't found anything like it.

She's ranked 1 of 84 at her independent hs as a junior and scored in the 97% on her PSAT. Will be taking the usual SAT and AP tests this spring.

Anyone aware of small LACs with similar curriculum?

Thanks, Camper89. I had heard of TAC but didn't realize it practiced the Great Books curriculum. I don't know that my daughter could get past the dress code--"modest dresses or skirts and blouses for female students". I appreciate your input.

Hi, I realize this is an old thread, but I'm wondering if St. John's ended up being the choice? My son loved his visit to Santa Fe, also. It turns out that St. Mary's California has a great books program modeled after St. John's, but they call it the Integral Program.

Hi, Karen
St. John's Santa Fe is still my daughter's first choice but she doesn't feel ready to leave the nest yet so will stay local at the jc. As a parent I continue to think highly of it. Thomas Aquinas is just down the road and much less money but just too religious for this kid. If your son is okay with the very conservative campus I would encourage you to check it out. It is a beautiful and well respected campus. Enjoy the college search.
