Does anyone know how St. John’s pharmacy is viewed in its area?

Good luck doglover, and congrats to sjyuhan-- I’m suprised you didn’t get more money though.

St Johns Pharmcy is an amazing program. I wouldn’t pass up the opportunity with the full scholarship.

I got a full to saint johns also, but as an actuarial science major. Guna wait to see what I make in March/April, but right now its near the top of my list, especially economically.

Yup I got in. My letter was dated for the 18th

Are you sure you are posting to the correct college site? St. John’s in MN has a pre-professional program for Pharmacy, but I can’t find anything about a PharmD program.
Maybe you are thinking of St. John’s in New York.

Almost all of the posters in this forum use this forum for St. Johns University in NY.

It is St. Johns in NY. They have a pharm d program

St. Johns in NY =/= St Johns College of Saint Benedict

I got into the PharmD program in November I believe…I got the $10,000 scholarship (and that is really nothing I guess compared to what I have heard they normally give out). And…here are my stats

SAT: 2190/ Writing: 770/Math: 750/Critical Reading: 640
AP Calc, AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Spanish, AP Macroeconomics, AP World History, AP Psych

2 recommendation letters, 1 essay submitted (very good)

I am so nervous. I just applied tonight…please let me know what you think about me getting accepted into the St. John’s PharmD Program…

SAT 2010 (math 710, CR 600, writing 700)

final GPA: 96.5119 (#20 out of 366)

recieved 3+ on these APs - AP English Language, AP German, AP World History, AP US History, AP Macroeconomics, AP Human Geography, AP English Literature, AP European History (taking AP spanish and AP psych this year)

I was my school’s HOBY ambassador in 10th grade (which was at St. John’s)

and i got two letters of rec (one from my old chem teacher who is a doctor) and one from my HGAP and APMacro teacher who I had for 3 years total.

I applied on 11/4, and the deadline for early admission is Dec 1st…what do you think?

I am not completely concerned about scholarships etc. because my parents are divorced (blah, blah, blah)…im mainly concerned with getting in. ive heard nothing but fantastic things about this program and i KNOW this is where i want to go, and what i want to do.

I say your chances are pretty good, I would say it’s a match. The average GPA for acceptance into pharmacy was 94, while the average sat was 2070 (or something around there).

i want to apply for the pharm. program.
i know my stats aren’t the best, but what are my chances?
SAT 1300
gpa.78

Your chance doesn’t seem very good in my opinion. GPA is always more important than SAT score. Unless you have a good reason for your low gpa, it seems pretty unlikely. I think they mentioned a minimum average and you are dangerously close to the minimum for consideration.

Also, has anyone written the pharmacy essay yet? I’m not sure what to write about at all and I’m not sure whether I have to do the other essay or not.

Spoons are you viewing his GPa as a 3.78 and saying that or just a .78 lol?

I’m not sure whether that’s a 78/100 or a 3.78. I viewed it as a 78.

oooo you’re prob right.

spoons im writing my pharmacy essay for them as well. and that is the only essay i’m sending them because im pretty sure they dont ask for another. anyone else know the answer to that? so what i’ve done is i tried tying in some of what i have in my personal statement to the pharmacy essay along with why i want to be a pharmacist and why i want to go to st. johns

Can anyone tell me my shot for the program?

I’m from NY, not sure if that helps.
