I got into St. Johns University in Queens as a Math major and they gave me a pretty big scholarship. I really like the idea of going to school there in queens. I've been to the school before and I loved the campus. I have seen some pretty bad stuff written online about the school. I was wondering if anyone on here that goes there, went there, or knows someone that did could tell me what the school is really like. Will I be able to get a good education there? Will I be able to get into a good graduate school after graduation? Thanks for your help.

I don't know much about St. Johns other than that for years they donated computer space to house listservs for a variety of medical ailments. A few people at St. Johns spent countless hours every year keeping the systems going, persuading AOL and other servers to stop blacklisting the listserves, helping listowners and listmembers who weren't computer savvy, etc. After 9-11, they worked diligently to put everything back on line as soon as possible. No one at St. Johns ever asked even a penny for these services. I'd say there are some very nice, ultra-caring folks at St. Johns.

Thanks. I'm going to one of those student for a day programs at the end of the month so I guess I can ask some students how they feel about their school as well.

iono mang. i don' think st johns is any good except for the pharmacy program.

I live in Bronx, NY...over here it is a pretty big deal to attend St. Johns. Although not as prestigious as a top-tier school, it is seen as something to be proud of to most of the area residents (or at least those that I know). Most students who decide to go there also receive great scholarships, so that is one of their primary reasons. Those who have attended praise the school for its opportunities and general atmosphere (esspecially to those who are persuing pre-pharmacy)...I think that you would really enjoy the NYC setting and experience.
