<p>I would like to get feedback on the safety of the surroundings of St. Louis. Does one feel safe to explore in the vicinity of the campus?</p>

<p>What about the rest of St. Louis, is it fairly safe?</p>
<p>Some parts, but not at night. I haven’t had any problems, so if you’re just smart (don’t walk around alone at night), you would be fine.</p>
<p>Does it really get up to 100 in summer?
I don’t want to rule out the option of staying summer for research or something.</p>

<p>How does WUSTL compare with Emory? I am going to be a biology major (not pre-med), but in ecology.</p>
<p>I think Wash U has better academics, but Emory is good, too.</p>
<p>Any comments on where it is easier to get a merit scholarship: WUSTL or Emory?</p>
<p>Probably Emory, because it is less competitive.</p>
