I got an email from st. mike’s yesterday telling me that I have been offered a spot for residency. The problem is that the deposit is due on Monday (June 11th) and there’s no place for me to submit my deposit or finish the second part of my application (I already submitted part one). I assumed that since I was already offered a spot, then I would be able to submit my deposit. Is this normal? How long would I have to wait to be able to access part 2?

I also received an email shortly after I submitted part one of the housing app and it talked about “once you are on the waiting list for housing.” Is this normal?? I am so concerned. I should be guaranteed residency, as I am a first-year student and I met the March 31st deadline.

I tried contacting the St. Mike’s residence office but they were closed, so I sent an email. I also tried contacting the St. Mike’s registrar, and they were also closed. I’m not sure what else I can do and I don’t want to miss my opportunity for housing. At this point, I’m very concerned and stressed and don’t know what else to do. Can someone guide me in the right direction? Thanks!

if i am not mistaken, you can give the deposit by credit card.

@hanmoss I was going to suggest calling the residence office first thing Monday morning, but I see they will only communicate via email. Make sure you’ve followed the steps under applying on this website - https://stmikes.utoronto.ca/student-life/campus-life/applying-to-residence/ If you can’t get into StarPortal to pay your deposit, call the St. Mike’s registrar first thing in the morning.

If you can’t get into StarPortal to pay, I’d also send the residence office an email saying you want to accept your spot, but you are unable to log into StarPortal/whatever issue you are having.
