St. Olaf Colleges Chances

I was just wondering what my chances getting into St. Olaf are?

3.75 Unweighted GPA

8 AP Classes with 4’s or higher on all test

Varsity Cross Country Captain

Varsity Tennis Captain

Two Time State Finalist for DECA

3 year KEY Club Member

Part Time Job in the Summer

Both my parents went to the school I don’t know if this holds any weight.

Excellent chances if your SAT/ACT is within range. Do update this thread to let us know!

You are a junior, I take it? I thought all of this year’s results were already available.

I would be very surprised if you didn’t get in with those credentials. Good luck! I recently visited St. Olaf and was quite impressed

Received my Composite ACT and it is a 31

@sebastian2 - St. Olaf is a MATCH for you. Your 31 ACT is at their 75% range mark. 8 APs is great, your ECs are decent. If you are good enough to run cross country or play tennis for them (and you would like to), then it’s a slam dunk (gotta get on a coach’s radar though by filling out a recruitment questionnaire).

HOWEVER, I don’t think you need to play sports for them to get in. Would be very surprising for them to deny you.

Are Grinnell and Macalester also realistic choices?

They’re reaches rather than matches but why not apply and see ? they’re definitely not un - reachable

I think St. Olaf’s is close to a sure bet- match/safety. Not only are you well within the range academically but you are also a double legacy.

And yes, Grinnell and Macalester are definitely matches. Go to their common data sets, section C, and compare your stats to those of admitted students to confirm.

I looked at both schools ACT and AP grading averages and I think I am well within their range. If it makes any difference I tried to up my EC’s and am now all conference for both sports and founded a statistical analysis club that now has over 40 members. I also started teaching younger kids tennis. Again, I don’t know how much weight these hold, I really like Macalester and Grinnell more than Olaf at this point.
