St. Paul's School Concord NH

I think I made in abundantly clear I do not care for this tradition. My reference to arrests was to correct the misconception that the students were arrested. I think it was clear that the parent’s were arrested and that it was the students that contributed to this result. I think it is clear to all readers that I definitely consider it “significant”. Please reread my post if you are not clear on this. This “tradition” should die at SPS and at all of these schools, before a teen does.

No fatalities, certainly good.

Many underaged kids drinking not so good.

Parents of St. Paul’s kids arrested for not monitoring appropriately, scary!!!

I hear you. I have not defended it. It happened. It was wrong. I hope it will not happen again.

And no parent can monitor that many teens by themselves. They should never try.

On a brighter note, my D has accepted a spot in the fourth form and is looking forward to being a Paulie.

What are some tips new students and parents should know before arriving on campus in September?

Winterset, thank you very much for creating and monitoring this discussion. I have enjoyed reading it, and thank you to all the students that have taken the time to answer questions.

My son will be at St Paul’s next year (we could not be happier!) and as I will be traveling for three months before the beginning of the school year I am trying to get a head start on the “packing list”

Could someone help me out with a few questions?

Are the beds twins or XL twins?

How frequently does the laundry service pick up and how long do they take? Do they press the clothes or just fold?

Is there a dry cleaners nearby?

Are there any items that you might recommend that he brings for his dorm? eg. lamps? a phone? chair? bookshelf?

spsmom: This was sent out last summer for what to bring and what the rooms have. https://www.sps.edu/ftpimages/36/download/W_Dress%20code_What%20to%20bring.pdf

Yes, the beds are XL. I do not know when E&R picks up at SPS, but they usually return three days later, e.g. Monday pick-up and Thursday drop-off. E&R also does drycleaning. [Boarding School and College Laundry Services from E&R Cleaners](http://www.eandrcleaners.com/campus-laundry-services.html) Fees vary by school.

Thank you CKSABS! That helps a lot!

Is XL twins full size? Thanks for the links!

Boynton - “XL twins” are extra-long. Otherwise the same as any twin bed.

Dodgersmom, Thanks! Will regular twin sheets fit then?
