There is an old saying in admissions circles-- “the thicker the file, the thicker the applicant.” You, not he, have done the right thing.

Is it too late to call a section head to ask questions about the school if we have already applied? or is now not the time to ask questions- we should have made those calls before January 15th?

No – too late to apply, but not too late to find out more about the school. Your interest may or may not get noted by the Admissions office but it is data you need to make your decisions regardless.

jahphotogal - My son’s two best friends (one is his roommate) are both Jewish. They seem to be very happy.

There are students of a variety of religions and no religion too…but don’t mistaken. It is an Episcopal school and there wil be hymns at Daily Chapel and they will continue to sing them while you are there. You do not have to sing, but you have to be present. There is a wonderfully silly you tube vido of the school singing the 12 days of Christmas in Chapel, with the church all festooned for Christmas–(not the Holiday Season). If you need to be in a religiously neutral place you will be disappointed.

But no one will expect you to be Christian, indeed, they will be pleased if you maintain your Jewish tradition. I believe there is a Jewish Chaplain, either on staff or affiliated for the Jewish community on campus and they have services.

My son went to Eton (SPS’s English brother school) and there were many many non Anglicans but it was an Anglican school with Daily Chapel with a reading, prayer and hymn–which were clearly Anglican in style and content. SPS is much the same.

jahphotogal I believe the head rector (headmaster) is Jewish.

Actually he’s Episcopalian. But either way jahphotogal, you’ll fit right in. Everyone is made to feel welcome at St. Paul’s.

jahphotogal - You’re definitely not left out of campus life as a Jewish student at SPS. We’re Jewish and my D (who has never been a big fan of religious observances in general) says she actually likes daily Chapel. It depends how observant you are - it’s not a place where you can very easily keep Kosher or observe Shabbat (Shabbat would be impossible, actually) but you can go to temple on the High Holidays and things like that.

Here’s a link about the programs:
https://www.sps.edu/podium/default.aspx?t=126955

Daily Chapel involves a hymn and a prayer, a speaker or performer, and announcements. So it is not an overly Christian rite, e.g. there’s no communion or declaration of faith or anything like that. The Chapel is certainly an imposing and central element of the campus, and I think that shared values are a big aspect of campus life, but it’s not a place where only Christians feel welcome and included.

Now I just have to see if I get in!

Best of luck to you all.
St. Paul’s is a great place.
Currently doing my ap chem homework…
Love the school, absolutely gorgeous environment to study at.

I’m so nervous. SPS is my dream school and yesterday I read through all 202 pages of this thread. I don’t even want to think about not getting in.

Maybe this is not the right thread to ask this on, but around what time did you receive your log in info for the online admissions system? Also did you receive it by mail or email?

Email and there is a thread with all the dates and times and methods.

PxAlaska Do you mean the thread about the admissions decisions time and date because if so then I’ve see that one. I meant the time frame in which you received the log in info for M9 not necessarily the time and day that you find out your decision.

In that case I recommend refresh every.single.second.

does anyone know what time on March 9th to log on for admissions decisions, like morning or evening time frame? Also, when will the log on information be sent? Thanks and good luck everyone! 16 days (:

Good luck to you too! Most of them (Choate,Hotchkiss anyway) seem to come out at 9 AM EST

are you applying for 3rd from PxAlaska?

I think this is clear I didn’t do my research when I’m befuddled over what is “3rd form”… Is that grade 9, 10, 11, or 12?

grade 9 (:
