St. Paul's School Concord NH

Are you absolutely sure T-mobile doesn't work?

d2g - yeah if you don't know how to play tennis you can learn it in club tennis which is in the fall, and real tennis is in the spring, and i'm pretty sure most people bring their own instrument (I did)

principalviola - people never play instruments in the dorm, you keep them in the music building. So if you want to practice you have to walk over to the music building and use one of the practice rooms

mehkins - i'm not exactly sure, but I don't remember taking a placement test for math. But don't worry about it, they can always move you up/down within the first few days of school.

Basically everyone has a phone in their room that they connect into the wall, so that anyone in the school can call them with a simple extension. But if you want to call your parents or something if you're lucky you can use your self, or you just buy a calling card.

mpicz - it works, just not on campus, but most people don't have friends calling them on their cellphone at school. But like if your out in town on weekends it works perfectly fine

I can't walk over to the music building after 11 can I... :/

Yeah, that's when you should be sleeping, lol
Most kids practice during free blocks, after sports, after dinner, and so on. Playing an instrument in kind if time consuming.

No way I can practice for two hours during that time... I'll adjust to schedule, though. :)

like, principal, i used to play guitar and violin. but i realized that if i go to sps, i just wanna focus on my strengths. so i sacrificed my love of music for art sport and academics. if music is like ur A+++, then u should do that instead of something else that u don't like as much.....u prbly know this, but just my advice....lol

u goin to sps nxt year? OM F G, SAME!! visitin april 5th and 6th, cya there
peace

Well I am only good at one instrument, Viola. I love sports (especially XC) and I love good academics (which SPS hosts)...

I don't know what to give up!

I wouldn't say you have to give up anything. Mehkins named art sport and academics. Its not that hard to do sports and play an intrument

do u actually have 2 purchase a house phone?

and could someone tell me what you do in instructional alpine?
i would try varsity, but it's too time-consuming,so i was wondering if instructional would be like club.....

Yeah, you def don't have to give up anything... You just have to learn time management

It's a good idea to buy a house phone, because if you don't none of your classmates can reach you by phone

Don't know about instructional alpine, but my guess is that it's instructional.....

I will have to give up SOMETHING. Because I don't do a lot of HW here (I get it done on the ride home, well I am self learning calculus but that's only 2 hrs)... And I usually don't just sit around... So I will have to give up something because I will have a lot more HW.

Well personally I only had around an hour of homework before I came to SPS and it's not that hard to adjust if you use your time wisely. Plus at school you don't have distractions such as having to go to the supermarket with parents, or tv and so on.

principal-you dont have to give up anything.
you just need to learn how to balance everything- acedemics, music, sports, and social

judging by your allready existing skills- you won't have that much trouble

True, true... I am pretty excited, though I will relish my pre BS days because they will be the last days I will really be living with parents.

omg, u take calculus?? w t eff?!??!?! my school only offers up to geometry, lol.....way to make me feel bad about myself >: C

jk, lol, but srsly...
i plan to do just sport and art at sps, and i'll prbly take engineering in my older forms. maybe robotics, that sounds quite cool

i'm so excited, i already bought a sps sweatshirt form the bookstore thing, gonna wear it at skewl on monday!!!

It seems like a lot of ya'll play instruments. I haven't heard about any chorus or drama kids goin to sps, but I know there has to be some.

I don't do chorus..but I act. And don't play an intrument. I guess you could call me a "drama" kid. But not really, I act in a lot of plays but I wouldn't categorize myself as a "drama kid".

Great music and acting. Starting last fall you can take Advanced Acting in place of a sport (my son did it last fall). You have regular acting class and then spend a couple of hours every afternoon working on a production. Choir just finished 2 weeks in South Africa. He would have done that, but his German class went to Germany for 2 weeks of homestay with a school we have exchanges with in Leipzig. Pretty amazing choices! Everyone returns to campus tomorrow.

There are several singing groups.

the home phone should be with a cord, not cordless. they can be found at places like Best Buy for about $10 - $15.

Do most kids have cell phones? Does AT&T work in most of the dorms? My d decided tonight she is going to St. Paul's and we can cancel all the re-visits!
