<p>In past years do the UC servers crash a day before the deadline? I'm planning on sending it in tomorrow but I'm extremely scared especially since the server is starting to slow down already. I just need one more day to finish up everything...!</p>
<p>When the servers DO crash, does it remain down constantly for the entire day or something? If that happens I'm just going to pull an all-nighter tomorrow waiting for the servers to come back up...</p>
<p>It's never a good idea to wait until the last minute, but in the past if there has been a server issue they have always extended the deadline by a couple of days. So just don't wait until 10pm on Nov 30th.</p>
<p>I plan to send it in straight after school at 4 PM Pacific Time on Nov 30th after some last minute editing by teachers. Does anyone know if this time period has caused any trouble?</p>

<p>each year has been different. The servers could flat out just crash and be down for hours. But, also what happens is they overload is so great that they move sloooooooooowly and you get dropped off. </p>
<p>Last year, they were extremely slow on the 28th morning and afternoon, but were moving briskly in the early evening. The 29th was very slow, with many kids getting dropped, and the 30th was an essential shut down. The UC did extend the deadline in those extreme cases. Of course, there is absolutely no guarantee that they will extend again.</p>

<p>looks like UC's have done a large server upgrade. no lag, yet. I can only hope this continues 'till the 30th.</p>

<p>Right now the site's pretty slow, I'm on a DSL connection and its still taking taking a minute or so to load up. I imagine it'll only get worse as it gets closer to the deadline. </p>
<p>I was thinking of getting more ppl to read my essays but I'm probably just gonna submit ASAP because the servers getting slow.</p>

<p>^ Submit NOW. I was thinking along the "have more people read my essays" line too, but then I realized, even if they DO comment negatively on my essays, would I really change it? Nope, so I just sent it in.</p>
