<p>anyone have a clue how much a staff rec is worth? ie a personal letter from a professor that has gone over your transcript and writes about what an absolute delight you are…</p>
<p>ahh.... like i got a ref from my summer professor... cause im emphasizing my interest in their psychology program... like if your prof hasnt had classes with you, then it might not be as strong cause they havent had first hand knowledge of you, but hey it def will help ... if you have similarly strong recs to your competition, i would think that would at least distinguish you.</p>
<p>eh, this professor is a close friend of my parents- they sent her everything there is to know about me and my academics and whatnot and she wrote a letter basically saying I'm a strong candidate for the University- (I'm legacy)- personally, if I were an admissions officer, I would read the letter, tear up my app, and **** on it, because obviously I think I can get in because of some recommendation. But that's just me.</p>
<p>hahaha yeah yeah....but honestly, were all hoping that whatever connection we may have to penn, in any way shape or form that it is, will help.... so i would have done the same thing</p>
