Hi. My son will be transferring in as a Junior to his university in January. He will need to live in an apartment and has already signed sublease agreement for Spring semester. This week he is looking to renew the lease for next school year (fall 2017) so that he will have that set. My question: is it permissible, possible, whatever to use the Stafford loan for his rent over the summer 2017 months? He is planning to stay at campus and work/possibly take summer class. If I’m correct, half of the loan will get deposited into his account for the spring semester and then it’s his to use as he needs for school expenses? Please help me understand all of this if you are able
