Stafford Loans for upperclassmen

For those with older college kids.....
How and when did your student receive notice of financial aid 'package' for sophomore, junior, senior years?

Our son got FA letter last May for his freshman year but so far nothing for the 2005-06 year. We did fill out FAFSA again and are trying to reach the FA office at his school but they have the machine picking up!

Did you hear of subsequent year awards later than freshman?
Do we have nothing to worry about?
Thanks for any info to calm the nervous mom here!

Daughter recieved her second year package on JUne 20. The subsequent year FA letters do come later than the freshman year letter. At D's school financial aid forms were not due until April 1 (they are getting all of the prospective freshmen stuff out of the way. Remember your child is already in the schools financial aid database. Unless they are getting merit money and are no longer eligible or you had some really extenuating change in your financial circumstances (better or worse) your aid package is going to be pretty consistent.

Your Student summer earning will probably go up and if S received a max stafford loan of $2625 freshman year, the sophmore max is $3500. If you do not get it soon, contact the FA office at your school.

My oldest son usually received his upperclass fin aid materials late July.

thanks!

I do remember now that the FAFSA submission date was later for upperclassmen.....
I think I was sooooo happy to get it done early this year (we did our taxes ourselves this year online) that I did forget that.
I know it's summer but it would be nice if the FA office could answer the phone!
