I was recently invited to complete the full application of the VT Engineering Davenport Leadership Scholarship. I was simply wondering if this invitation implies that I was accepted to the school of engineering? I applied regular decision, and receive my acceptance or rejection in April. They also said only 20% of students who applied for the scholarship advanced to stage two.
I also made it to stage two of the davenport scholarship. Everyone keeps telling me that that means I’ve made it into the engineering school but I have not heard back yet! Someone please answer this!
@Lotr888 @lkb0429 Back when I was at Tech, I learned that the admissions office and other departments/financial aid don’t communicate regularly. Based on the website, the people who handle the Davenport Scholarship are in the Engineering Department and likely haven’t had much contact with the Admissions Counselors. There’s no way to guarantee that you’re in engineering since Admissions handles it, but the people IN engineering think you’re an exceptional candidate, so you probably are. There are a variety of reasons why Admissions hasn’t sent you a decision yet, but most likely the counselor who has your file just hasn’t evaluated your application yet.
Okay thank you so much for this response! I guess I’ll just keep my fingers crossed for now!
