My class rank has stayed the same since the second quarter of Junior year (currently a senior) - despite the fact that my GPA goes up significantly each quarter. The reason for this is because many kids who were ahead of me in rank took Dual Enrollment courses which weigh twice as heavy as AP classes so while I was receiving straight A's in APs and Honors, my friend was getting low C's but because she was in two DE courses and had B's in them, her GPA and rank would go up tremendously.

Basically -
Me: 1 quarter, straight As/A+s in APs/Honors 3.70 -> 3.74
Her: 1 quarter, one D, one C, rest Bs in APs/Honors/DE courses 3.70 -> 3.85

My question was, will I be at a severe disadvantage because of my not-so-competitive rank in college admissions?

**During Junior year, I was not aware of the splendors of DE courses on your GPA before it was too late to sign up. I'm currently in two DE courses as of right now but the semester ends after college applications get sent in so my rank will be reported as the same it is now. :(
