Does anyone know how the Stamps Scholarships work? Have invitations for interviews already been given? I was told that there are not interviews for Honors College Scholarships this year, but I assumed there would be for Stamps. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Apollo6 why did they only offer 7 Stamps scholarships? I was not expecting my child to receive one but it makes me wonder if other scholarships work they same way. If those 7 decline the offer (I can’t imagine!) will the scholarship roll to someone else?

Apparently they are shooting for 5 acceptances out of the 7. Last year they offered 8 and 6 accepted, one more than they were planning on. The expense is evenly divided between the university and the Stamps Foundation so it is a very expensive endeavor. I don’t know how the other scholarships work but overall, University of Mississippi is one of the most generous schools I have ever encountered. The automatic merit for high ability OOS students is amazing in a public university!

^^ Oh yes I agree Ole Miss is very generous and my student fell in love with the beautiful campus and strong academic programs.

Apollo6 when was your student notified about merit scholarships? The Academic Excellence, Holmes and Technology were in December but what about departmental and special programs?

I believe that all the other scholarships are awarded between mid February and mid March so that students have the opportunity to consider them before notifications by other universities.
