Standardized test question

on the brown admissions site, it says that,

“Brown requires every applicant for admission to Brown in 2006-2007 to submit results of either the SAT Reasoning Test and any two SAT Subject Tests (except for the SAT Writing Test), or the ACT taken with the Writing Test option.”

now, i can read that as saying Brown requires
A) SAT Reasoning Test and 2 Subject Tests
OR
B)ACT

…and i can also read it as saying
A) SAT Reasoning Test
B) 2 Subject Tests
OR
B) ACT

does anyone know which it is?

It's the first.

You need to take either:
SAT1 and 2 SAT IIs
or
ACT + writing test option

It's pretty clear though... this and that, or this with that.

that makes sense...but is it possible to submit SAT Reasoning and ACT without the SAT II's, or does it have to be done as a package?

I would imagine that's fine. I think the idea is this-- we want the standardized test thing, but we also want to see some subject specific work. You could email admissions. I'll actually be working there a few days a week starting later this week so I could ask then if you're too timid to email (not a problem, I can completely understand that... I used to have my mom call and not mention names occasionally during the college search).

no, an SAT score report includes all scores for any administering of the SAT I or any SAT II Subject Test. You CANNOT get a score report that separates these.

Dave I think he just means to not take any SAT IIs and take hte ACT instead.

ah, I see. still, it should be noted that any SAT II tests taken will be reported (unless the report goes in before the test was scored)

Agreed Dave, it was helpful you read into it that way.
